Hertfordshire Chorus has an annual budget of around £100,000 to support its concert and associated activities. Revenue is raised primarily from ticket sales, subscriptions and self-help fundraising schemes.
We have three other important sources of funding:
Grant awarding bodies
Support from these organisations is based on our diversity of programming
and our commitment to educating the next generation of singers and concertgoers -
in particular our collaboration with schools, innovative presentation, encouragement of living composers and
commissioning of new works.
We are pleased to acknowledge the support of:
Arts Council England
The Williams Church Music Trust
St Albans City and District Council
Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council
Business sponsorship
The high quality of our singing and concert arrangements means that audiences and sponsors
are guaranteed an enjoyable musical experience and an event of which they and their guests can be proud.
Sponsorship can range from a long term arrangement - a season or beyond - to support for a single concert.
You could also consider supporting a commissioned work or one of our educational/outreach projects.
Individual and corporate patronage
In return for their support, the Chorus offers individual and corporate patrons special
arrangements, including tickets to concerts, invitations to receptions, priority and discounted bookings,
and regular mailings.
To discuss any or all of these possibilities please contact sponsor@hertfordshirechorus.org.uk
New commissions fund
Hertfordshire Chorus has set up a Choral Commissions Fund which is ring-fenced
from the general finances of the Chorus so that individuals and organisations can contribute
directly to the commissioning of new works. Our recent commissions include:
| Orlando Gough | ICE (première Jan 2009) |
| Howard Haigh | Land of Light |
| Will Todd | Mass in Blue |
| Roland Perrin | songs from the cage |
| Edward Gregson | The Dance, Forever the Dance |
