Opportunity for a top-class accompanist with Hertfordshire Chorus
Hertfordshire Chorus wishes to appoint a top-class accompanist to start from January 2019. The Chorus (130 singers), under the direction of David Temple MBE is one the UK’s leading symphonic choirs, performing with top-class orchestras such as the BBC Concert Orchestra. We are frequently broadcast on the BBC and elsewhere. Each season we promote five of our own concerts at venues such St Albans Cathedral, the Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and Sage Gateshead. We are a busy choir, often engaged not only for performances but also for recordings and other events. We commission new works on a regular basis.
This is a great opportunity to work with a leading choral conductor and choir. There will be opportunities to perform in concerts and recordings and, for suitable candidates, to deputise for the conductor on occasions. It would also be an advantage if our accompanist was also an accomplished organist. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings between September and July in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire and occasionally on other evenings and at weekends.
